According to Oral Health in America: A Report of the Surgeon General3, children from “low-income” families have more tooth decay, more extensive tooth decay, and suffer more pain than children from families with higher incomes. Screening results are expected to aid in targeted interventions to prevent oral disease so that growth, development, and overall quality of life for all of Nevada’s children is enhanced.
