Research Analyst
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting and coordinating research activities within the scope of the NV Institute for Children’s Research and Policy. Duties will include design, implementation, collection and management of research and data; data cleaning, qualitative and quantitative analysis; grant development; literature reviews; writing reports and publications; oral presentations; and collaboration with community partners. The particular duties of this position are dependent upon grants and/or contracts awarded.
Minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related social science with an emphasis on research methods/statistics courses. Additionally, the candidate should have at least two years of related experience conducting social science research, preferably on children’s issues. The candidate should have the ability to coordinate and conduct social science and evaluation research; knowledge of research methods, database development, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and human subjects; excellent computer skills in word processing and data management; proficient in SPSS; and excellent oral and written communication skills. Publications in a related field are helpful, but not required.
Assistant Research Analyst
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Assistant Research Analyst will be responsible for coordinating and conducting research activities, working collaboratively with project partners to address existing project requirements, and work with NICRP staff to develop ideas for related grants and projects. Duties will include assistance with literature reviews, design, implementation, collection and management of research and data; data cleaning, sorting and analysis; grant development; literature reviews; writing reports and publications; collaboration with community partners. The particular duties of this position are dependent upon grants and/or contracts awarded.
Minimum of a Master’s in a related social science. Additionally, the candidate should have at some experience conducting social science research, preferably on children’s issues, have knowledge in conducting qualitative or quantitative research (i.e., knowledge of research methods, data analysis, human subjects protections, and/or database development); demonstrated ability to multi-task; demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical software (SPSS/PASW, SAS, or Stata).
Research Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION: NICRP research assistant’s conduct and coordinate research activities for several research projects related to children in Nevada. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, and strong analytical and writing skills. Applicants should have the ability to work collaboratively with project partners to address existing project requirements, and knowledge of database development and data analysis. Ideally applicants will have a background in social science and/or evaluation research, be proficient in working with Excel, Word, and have some experience with SPSS and/or SAS software.
This position is temporary position and is typically 40 hours a week between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday -Friday.
Program Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: Program Coordinator will lead statewide coordination and implementation of programs for Prevent Child Abuse Nevada, and will work in collaboration with other NICRP staff and community organizations on related projects. This position’s duties include program implementation and evaluation of education curricula tailored to three target audience (parents, professionals, and youth) that address risk factors and the prevention of child maltreatment. In addition, the Program Coordinator will also be responsible for various statewide outreach tasks and administrative tasks, as assigned.
Student Worker
JOB DESCRIPTION: NICRP undergraduate or graduate student’s assist NICRP in several research projects related to children in Nevada. Qualified applicants should have a background in quantitative research methods, and a background in qualitative methods is preferred. Applicants should be comfortable working with data in a variety of formats, and have strong analytical and writing skills to assist in all aspects of the projects. Ideally applicants will be proficient in working with SPSS, Excel, Word, and have some experience with SAS.
This position would be a student worker position, 10 or 20 hours a week, typically between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday -Friday.

Work Environment
NICRP offers flexible scheduling, professional development, and health care benefits. The work environment is mostly indoors and climate controlled with moderate noise levels as found in office settings. Occasional attendance at outreach events around the community include both indoor and outdoor settings.
