The Community Catalyst Project: Protecting Funding for Nevada Medicaid and Check Up Programs was initiated to increase and improve advocacy efforts for funding of Nevada’s Medicaid and Check Up health care programs. This two-year project has several objectives: develop a coalition of key stakeholders, constituents, and relevant organizations to advocate for stabilization of funding for Medicaid and SCHIP during the 2009 Legislative Session in Nevada and beyond; provide advocacy training and health care budget and reform updates to these coalition members; and educate policymakers regarding the importance of adequately supporting Medicaid and SCHIP with state funds.
