The Nevada Afterschool Network (NAN) plans to use funds from this grant to conduct outreach efforts that will establish and strengthen partnerships with community leaders, elected officials, and OST programs throughout Nevada. Monies received from this grant will be used to hire an Outreach & Advocacy Coordinator that will be selected for their experience, skill, and potential existing connections with the groups we are reaching out to. This individual will dedicate their time to three main goals: (1) Conducting direct outreach to local school districts and key educational decision-makers, (2) Planning and supporting a “State of OST in Nevada” event in October 2022, and (3) Preparing a policy agenda and support OST programs to advocate during the 2023 Nevada Legislative Session.
