Health Status Equity Report-First Edition 2024

The Southern Nevada Health District created our inaugural Health Equity Status report to better inform community members and organizations about key health indicators affecting Southern Nevadans. By compiling data by ZIP code, race/ ethnicity, age and sex, we aim to empower Clark County residents with additional language and knowledge of local health issues and what is being done about them. Healthy People 2030 is a federal initiative to improve U.S. health and well-being by setting data-driven national objectives. Among the categories for improvement are the health of the economy, schools and health care access. These three social determinants of health (SDoH) domains and their associated health indicators served as the focus for this report. Clark County is currently below national and state benchmarks for many health measures; and Black/ African American, American Indialaska Native, Hispanic/Latino individuals and those living in rural areas or the northeast metropolitan area are experiencing the highest health burdens.
