Communicable diseases are a continuing threat to all people, regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, ethnic background, or socioeconomic status. They cause illness, suffering and death, and place an enormous financial burden on society. Currently over 90 diseases or conditions are reportable in Nevada. In 2022, over 60,000 cases were reported to Northern Nevada Public Health.
