This study explores the current youth behavioral health crisis, Nevada-specific factors contributing to poor access to behavioral health care, national and state best practice models for providing
behavioral health services to children, youth, and families in schools, and opportunities to bring a CSMHS to scale across the state. It includes an extensive review of existing literature and data,
including federal and state policies, statutes, and regulations. This is integrated with qualitative information gathered from 17 focus groups and key informant interviews with representatives of
state agencies, school district superintendents, charter schools, and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). The analysis concludes with key findings and recommendations for policies,
practices, and funding strategies to enhance the implementation of a CSMHS in Nevada.
